Brandon Thomas Memorial Award

Brandon Thomas, a 17 year old high school student was killed by an impaired driver on December 6th, 2012. He was on his way home from his apprenticeship job in Calgary to his home in Cochrane at 6 pm. He was struck head on and died at the scene before they could free him from the wreckage.

Although just 17, Brandon had a passion for cars and was looking forward to coming to SAIT to study in automotive technology.  His dream was to someday own a performance shop called Cross Piston Performance with his sister Kayla. Brandon always told Kayla she could do anything, and she was very excited about opening a business with him. He is described as a young man with a special way of empowering people and unifying people from different "cliques" and cultures.  In his short 17 years he had already owned 4 vehicles.
