2023 International Women’s Day Awards Nomination Form

SAIT and Women in Trades and Technology will present three awards at the 2023 International Women’s Day Conference on Wednesday, March 8 to recognize selected students or professionals who exemplify equity and allyship for women in non-traditional roles.

Influencer award

This award is presented to someone who uses their voice to help create more inclusive environments. Whether through community interactions, social media, or a combination of both, this natural leader has an important message of inclusion to share with the world and helps facilitate connections. Their passion to make an impact extends as far as their voice can reach.

Initiative award

This award focuses on collaborative achievement and how teamwork makes the dream work! This person, or group of people, is forward thinking and takes action to drive change in the field of equity, diversity and inclusion. They do things without being told, keep going when things get tough, and seize opportunities that others let pass by. They create value for themselves, and elevate their status and the status of those they choose to surround themselves with.

Innovation award

This award focuses on someone who is committed to new ways of breaking down barriers. They are dedicated to disruptive and radical innovation, transforming both industry and the way we educate ourselves about the world we live in. They serve as a mentor, paving the road less traveled for other women to follow.

To the best of your knowledge, describe how your nominee has met the following criteria:

- Impact on program or field

  •  What have they accomplished that has had a positive or inspiring impact on their program or field?

- Leadership

  • How have they demonstrated leadership in their program, role, or industry? Who do they lead?

- Influence

  • How they have influenced their program, role or industry? What kind of impact has that influence made?

- Coaching and mentorship

  • What coaching and mentorship have they offered in their program, role or industry?

- Community involvement

  • How are they involved in their community? Do they volunteer? How long have they been involved?

- Inclusion and equity advocate

  • How do they advocate for inclusion and equity in their program, role or industry? What kinds of things do they do?

- Achievements in program or field

  • What have their achievements been in their program, role or industry? Have they won awards or been recognized for their contributions?
