Travel and Tourism Study Trip to India
Who are we?
We are first and second year Travel and Tourism students. We have the opportunity to travel to India as part of the study tour in our program.
What are we doing?
Dates: May 4 – 16, 2019
Visit: Delhi, Varanasi, Jaipur, Ranthambore Park and Agra
In addition to visiting all the amazing sites each city or area has to offer, we will also be participating in various activities! We will have yoga sessions, safaris, cooking demos and dinner with an Indian family, rickshaw rides, sunrise boat ride on the Ganges, and participating in many other cultural activities.
We will attend a private presentation on Incredible India by India tourism officials.
We will visit an art school that is part of the Enriching Lives International Relief Program. We will have an opportunity to spend some time with the students and see their work. We will also be donating some art supplies! We will also be visiting Geejgarh, a small village surrounded by farms and have an opportunity to help out with some of the daily chores!
Why are we going?
We are going in order to cement the content from the courses we have been taking, immerse ourselves in local culture, enhance our knowledge, heighten our SAIT education and expand our world perception! This trip will also provide us with the opportunity to take our education out of the textbook and into the real world. We feel this will be our best opportunity to visit India, as a group of emerging young travel professionals.
How you can help:
Our goal is for each student to raise $200.00 for our India Study Tour. Your support will help us reach our educational potential and add to our appreciation of the different cultures of the world.
