Per $1000 take home pay save $50 for travel as you need a holiday, $50 for the unknown (as covid has shown), $50 for TFSA or RRSP. The final 50 is to reduce the approved mortgage by $50,000 or $50 per payment to avoid being house poor." Robert Woods '99
