Hello! I’m Maalik Gowralli, President for the Motion Media Society at SAIT! We’re a small, student run, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping students within the Film and Video Production program, giving them access to free workshops that wouldn’t otherwise have been available and building a strong community among different semesters. The 4th Semester Screening Committee, run by Joseph Fredrickson and JJ Sidhu, specifically focuses on making an extravagant and professional level screening for all of the 4th semester’s films at absolutely no cost to the students themselves.
The Motion Media Society at SAIT is once again overjoyed to be organizing and hosting the final screening which have been huge successes in the past. We want to highlight the hard work that each student has put into their films by providing them with a space to freely showcase their art and network with fellow students, friends, family, instructors, alumni, and even industry professionals. We’re very excited to be able to put a spotlight on the dedicated student filmmakers from the 4th semester!
We need your help to fundraise $4,200 to allow over 70 students to get their films to the big screen, a first for many of us. Contributing to our crowdfund will not only help pay for our venue for the screening, but it will also help pay for the networking event that follows along with the services that come with it. It’ll allow us to provide an unforgettable red carpet experience to the students, actors and attendees with decorations and photographers. Your contribution will help keep a 26-year tradition of screening student films at SAIT alive, and make a very special and memorable night for each student showcasing their work! If you choose to support, your contribution will be going towards venue rentals and the costs with it, including promotion of the event, professional photographers and decorations!
