About the BGIS Student Club

The BGIS Club is a student-led organization that bridges the gap between GIS students, alumni, and industry professionals. We organize events such as Lunch-and-Learns, social activities, and networking opportunities with the aim of creating an atmosphere of learning, camaraderie, and growth. Our student-members are supported by an Instructor Liaison and are encouraged to build their skills and connections.

BGIS Industry Night 2023

On March 20, 2023, Macdonald Hall will be the scene of an exciting Industry Night event! All students and alumni of the Bachelor of Applied Technology Geographic Information Systems program are invited to attend and make valuable connections with GIS professionals. In addition to networking, there will be presentations from GIS experts, activities hosted by student club executives, and plenty of chances to mingle and learn about GIS. Refreshments will be available.

We are excited to host this incredible evening!

Your Support

We would like to extend a warm invitation to industry partners to join us in funding our annual Industry Night. By investing in this event, partners will receive a special area to showcase their materials, as well as the chance to engage with students, and present their company to the attendees. Your contributions will go towards the expenses associated with the event, such as catering, staff, furniture rentals, and audio-visual equipment. If you are interested in learning more about the different partnership levels and how you can get involved, please contact the club for more information.

The BGIS Club is grateful for the support of those in the local geospatial community and we would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to those who will help partner with us to make Industry Night successful.
