The ZENO Renewables SAIT Entrance Award, “Strides for Sustainability,” removes financial barriers for new SAIT students who have a passion for sustainability in their everyday life.

 


About the ZENO Strides for Sustainability Fundraiser

ZENO Renewables acts as a catalyst for change in our shared communities in helping us to think differently about energy and our impact on the planet through inspiring the next generation to have agency in their own lives and a positive impact in the world around them.

Through the creation of the Strides for Sustainability Award, ZENO has championed student success at SAIT. This award recognizes deserving students in need of financial support, entering their first-year of full-time certificate, diploma, degree or applied degree program.

The ZENO Strides for Sustainability Award has an impact beyond the monetary value of the award. Student award recipients are encouraged and validated when they receive an award. This award acts as the inspiration students need to pursue their dreams and ensure they can continue their educational journey free from financial worry.

ZENO Renewables co-founders and proud SAIT grads, Gursh Bal and Kai Fahrion, were inspired to launch the annual ZENO Strides for Sustainability fundraiser, as a way to support and generate awareness of community causes.

From March 2023 to August 2023, ZENO’s team of 30+ employees will be fundraising money for schools across Alberta. ZENO has committed to doubling their fundraising goal for SAIT, to raise $10,000 for the ZENO Strides for Sustainability Award. The Calgary leg of the race will wrap on May 28, 2023. Every year, thousands of worthy SAIT students receive over $5 million in awards from SAIT donors. A student award can mean the difference between attending SAIT or not, or having to work while in school and taking longer to graduate. These awards support students to manage finances, so they can focus on their studies and future careers.
