Zahra was a qualified librarian who ran a petroleum library in Iran. Because of political unrest and reforms in Iran, she left to seek a better life for her family in Canada in 1996. She started working at the SAIT Library in 1997 and proved herself to be a dedicated worker. Within the research unit, she was the lead researcher for web searches and analysis. She worked tirelessly on major research projects, whether it was for SAIT’s President, members of the Executive Management Team, faculty, staff or students. Zahra also developed policies and provided library assistance to SAIT’s Distance Education programs. She also compiled the data the library received from student surveys and transformed the results into reports for future planning purposes. Underlying all these achievements, Zahra was a gracious, kind and caring person and she was easy to get along with. She walked her path of life very gently and selflessly. For the people who had the privilege of knowing her, we all learned from her dedication and courage. This scholarship was established in her name by her colleagues in the Reg Erhardt Library to honor her.
