Setting up a memorial fund is a meaningful way to honour a loved one’s legacy. Gifts will make a difference in the lives of students today, tomorrow and far into the future.

If you mail a check, please include the memorial fund and/or the name of the individual that the gift is in memory of.

Yes, SAIT is a registered charity and all donors will receive a charitable tax receipt for their gift.

Some people choose to create a memorial fund to support a student award, an endowment or specific project in memory of a loved one. Memorial funds can also be used to support specific programs or initiatives at a post-secondary institution. For example, a fund could be established to support mental health services for students, to create a memorial garden or other physical memorial on campus, or to support a particular club or student group that the student was involved in.

With an annual award, you can create a lasting tribute that will recognize the person’s legacy for years to come, with a minimum three-year commitment. This is a financial award given to a student who meets certain criteria, such as academic achievement, community involvement, or financial need.

Another type of student memorial fund is an endowment. This is a sum of money that is invested, with the income generated from the investment used to fund the award in perpetuity.
